Is art a calibration of conceptualization deriving from senses at the human?
For sure, maybe. That's why armed with love of art I found myself in the National Gallery of Arts in Tirana, as there has recently open a exposition from the Kosovo painter Flaka Haliti, I found myself again in front of the works of Edison Gjergo (1939 –1989) at the second level of the gallery, where the art of social realism of the socialist realism in Albania is exposed. Very attractive paintings, and attention to them remains remains alive again. And as I was looking for some spiritual experience I spied limbs in his works. Hands and a foot. The paintings are two. 'The morning stars's epics' (1971) and the 'Fondator' (as somebody working at a foundry) also of the 71. Lacking necessary knowledge to make any reference to uses of this kind, apart from the Romanian surrealist painter Victor Brauner, who after panting regularly for eye mutilation lost his eye in an a fight between his friends, but I am attracted by his right hand. In the pocket. Other hands in the other painting have some modification that lead you away if you persist. The hand where the dreaming head of the partisan rests is like the head of a column, the fingers in the string are like a spider, the wrist is starved, the fingers are interrupted by the paintbrush, others' partisan's foot is like an anemic tale of a siren. Is that anything there? a coded message for careful observers with enough self-confidence, or just the rush of master who knows that the detail can be neglected when you have so much to to say in that very moment? A pain, a feeling of a man who finds the way to hide his loss in extremities with colors and forms. In 1974 he was sent to prison for 8 years, and this paintings of 1971 are part of the works made in early 70s that had a certain feeling of liberalization floating around. are these details part of the artistic expertise that accompanied his prosecution in court? This is to searched for. Were they part of comment among friends and colleagues? But we know so little about Gjergo and his works. In facebook there is a beautiful painting of his sister and the hole web has no more. |

Something that was supposed to be the wrist of the right hand is the unhealthy elbow of a mutilated arm. Disproportionate. Hidden in the prolonged arm. Very low to be an elbow and not a wrist. in the cloth as the mouth of a blind, sad, fish.

The lines of the fingers as rush toward the nailed extremities is interrupted by a brush. certain lightened caves remain below. and above a certain animal as a horse or a dog. The interrupting brush has been cured carefully. There is some brown in it.
A flower grasped by the stalk between a warm yellowish thumb an a pale white pointing one, with a certain liking for the blue. Red, Black.
The hand of the old rhapsode in the 'lahuta' is indicative. Width calls for weakness. they touch. the turns are rapid. something is missing.
The way the pictures have been processed and taken can invite criticism, but they allow for things to come up.
Is this the leg of a partisan in the morning stars epick? Yes it is.
For a clearer picture you can visit the National Gallerys page, or better, make a visit in the gallery, where Flaka Halitis' "Angel of History" is counting everyone, although it might have flown away.
